Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Nursing
The Eleanor Wade Custer School of Nursing at Shenandoah University invites applications for the position of Associate Dean for Innovation and Collaboration, a twelve-month appointment that reports directly to the Dean. The primary responsibilities of the position include providing oversight, collaborative and strategic leadership for the planning, development, operationalization, maintenance and monitoring of all aspects of the academic programs, with special attention to distance sites (Leesburg, Fairfax and others). This position provides key leadership for innovation and collaboration for establishment of new partnerships and opportunities to enhance existing programs and support new initiatives for all campus sites. The ADIC works closely with the School of Nursing Executive Committee, program directors and faculty. Other responsibilities include teaching in the program and representing the school at state and national meetings that support excellence in nursing practice and education.
The candidate should possess an in-depth knowledge of the profession of nursing and innovative student-centered teaching and learning methods; strong interpersonal and organizational skills; and the ability to independently manage creative programs and delivery modalities. Experience with academic leadership and grant writing in a school/college of nursing is preferred and a Doctoral degree in nursing or related discipline is required (PhD, DNP) along with documented accomplishments in teaching, service and scholarship commensurate with the ability to be appointed as an Assistant/Associate or Full Professor is required. Candidate must hold or be eligible for an unencumbered RN license in Virginia or compact state.
