Position Summary:
The Physical Therapist (PT) is responsible for providing a full range of physical therapy services including assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment. The PT will plan, implement and evaluate patient care programs through the use of selected physical therapy procedures and tests; direct and aid patients in therapeutic exercises, muscle re-education and functional training. The PT will administer selected muscle, nerve, joint and functional ability tests to assist physicians and other health personnel in determining diagnosis, prognosis and patient progress; consult with physicians in developing individual therapy plans designed to assist patients in reaching their maximum performance levels. The PT will explain therapeutic plans and procedures to patients to allay fears and to obtain cooperation in gaining the maximum benefit from therapy; plan post-discharge follow-up and home referrals for patients. Maintain records and files reflecting up-to-date patient progress, care plans and related statistical data as required by departmental policies. The PT will participate in training and educating physical therapy staff, and students in physical therapy techniques and objectives. The PT must be willing to report back to work during any emergency situation, this includes if needed during inclement weather, mass casualty, internal disaster, etc. The PT will complete other duties as assigned.

Experience:

  • One year clinical experience as a Physical Therapist preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Licensed by the state of South Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners as a Physical Therapist in good standing required.
  • BLS Certification required.
