Electrician
Ferrum College is accepting applications for a full-time electrician who will be responsible for electrical work necessary to supply power for all buildings and equipment operations throughout our campus facilities.
This electrician will perform design and layout of electrical circuits; installation, repair, maintenance, remodeling, and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic equipment; assist in planning and scheduling; ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes and mandated workmanship standards and ensure that safety rules are followed; work directly with contractors and vendors in major repairs or installation of new equipment; assist in maintaining documentation including operational, repair, and preventive maintenance records, OEM manuals and drawings related to this trade. He/She must support other craft persons as required.
We require a high school or GED and 3-5 years experience in the electrical trade. Master electrician certification is preferred but additional experience may be substituted. A valid driver's license and good driving record are required.
