Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Career Counselor.
The Career Counselor role in the Career Services office services as a primary point of contact for students. This professional meets with undergraduate and graduate students as well as alumni to provide them with personalized career coaching. Appointments may consist of but are not limited to resume and cover letter reviews, mock interviews, or choosing a program of study. This individual holds the position of primary guest presenter for faculty classes and community organizations. By presenting in classes, this individual creates an opportunity for students to seek one-on-one coaching, thus playing a central role in student success.
Under direct supervision, performs entry level professional counseling duties in career counseling as part of an institutionally defined self-directed team. Work involves a broad variety of specialized processes consistent with a clearly defined team-based work environment and continuous quality improvement objectives.
Authority and Accountability
This position reports to the Director of Career Services.
This position has not budgetary responsibility nor authority.

Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Three years of progressive customer focused experience.
- Ability to work one on one and in large group settings with minimal supervision.
- Excellent computer and organizational skills (Microsoft Office experience).
- Thorough knowledge of team office practices, procedures, and equipment; of business English, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Excellent human relations skills.
- Master’s degree in counseling or college student affairs.
- Experience in a recruiter position.
- Five years of progressively responsible duties.
- Knowledge of STRONG, MBTI, Focus.
